Hope is Missing

Is it real or is it just a game?

My name is Richard Chambers and I'm searching for my fiancée Hope Wilcott who's been missing since June 27th of this year. The following series of videos is an attempt to get the word out about her disappearance. If you've seen her or have any information about her whereabouts please contact me at hopeismissing@gmail.com - visit our myspace profile or www.hopeismissing.blogspot.com for more info

  Something is wrong with Mom

In today’s attention economy – directors have to work hard to gain(let alone keep!) the attention of viewers.  Lance Weiler (self confessed “culture hacker” acclaimed writer/director) is doing just that using MySpaceTV.  His latest creation is “Hope Is Missing” a “Horror 2.0 ARG” (alternate reality game) that mixes multiple web 2.0 properties in a lead up to the VOD release of the movie ‘Head Trauma’.  This move highlights the lengths directors are going to turn “the viewer” into “the user” in order to connect them with content like never before.

Fusing text messaging, offline events, Twitter, and Opera browers users are assaulted on all fronts and quickly engage with the material to find out what happens next.  The main crux of the program lives on MySpace including

·                   Profiles

·                   Blogging

·                   Video series 4-part web series that will roll out over three weeks (1+2 this week then 3 and 4 over the next two weeks)

Within the videos are a number of hidden clues that lead into the ARG (alternate reality game).  There will also be offline events (such as Mobile Drive-Ins) in major cities and multiple sites that only add further to the experience on MySpace.  Already garnering buzz within the “hipster/cool kids” community because clues can be found across media platforms – it’s truly addictive.
