“The Battalion” Hits the Open Market

Los Angeles, CA, 7/17/07 — Tule Fog Productions has announced their intention to offer the reality series “The Battalion” to broadcast television. The Battalion, a web series profiling the daily lives of real firefighters and rescue workers, has built a steady internet fan-base via YouTube, MySpace, iFilm, and Virb, where they have been in the top six for the past three weeks. Viewers can download our webisodes to all devices including their television The small, tight-knit Tule Fog crew has worked closely with Chief Joanne Hayes-White and her crews of the San Francisco Fire Department and Fire Department officials nationwide to create a series that accurately depicts the professional lives of the men and women who risk their lives every day. “Some of these stories will break your heart,” says executive producer David Furtado. “Others will make you laugh out loud. That’s the thing about their jobs: Firefighters have to turn that emotional corner without losing control.” The Battalion has also broken new ground in the reality genre by turning its focus not just to firefighters, but to female firefighters. “I’m like a social worker,” says Lieutenant Anita Pratley. “But with an axe.” Furtado has been in talks with almost every cable television outlet, and The Battalion has established a cutting-edge web site www.thebattalion.tv where viewers can watch pilot and sample webisodes before they debut on broadcast television.
