DALET TO UNVEIL VERSION 2.0 OF ITS MEDIA ASSET MANAGEMENT ENGINE AND RELEASE A MAJOR UPGRADE TO ITS BROADCAST PRODUCT LINE

 


 

New releases to offer extended support for video formats, optimized

usability and tighter integration with video servers and third-party

editing systems.


 

Levallois-Perret, France, August 21, 2007, Dalet Digital Media

Systems today announced that it will introduce a number of major

upgrades to its product line at IBC 2007 in Amsterdam. Based on

version 2.0 of the Dalet media asset management engine, these new

releases offer improved support for video formats (including IMX and

HD), optimized usability as well as tighter integration with

third-party editing systems and video servers:


 

"Version 2.0 takes our media asset management solutions to a whole new

level of scalability so as to optimize tapeless workflows across

broadcast facilities," explains Mr. Nicolas Hans, Director of

of research and development and intensive collaboration with our

partners and customers in order to optimize metadata tracking across

the workflow and facilitate multi-platform content distribution."


 

Because the Dalet Media Asset Management engine is the foundation of a

number of Dalet products, its upgrade has a massive impact on the

whole Dalet product line. The following product releases will be

launched at IBC 2007:


 

1 Dalet NewsWire 2.0, The new generation scripting and newsroom

system;

2 Dalet NewsPro 2.0, Tapeless ingest and production for news and

programs;

3=Dalet OnAir 2.0, Flexible play-out and gallery automation;

4=Dalet Media Library 2.0, Turn-key asset management and archiving for

sports, news and programs.

5=Dalet News Suite 2.0, The tapeless newsroom with integrated media

asset management.


 

All of these new product releases will be demonstrated during the IBC

exhibition in Amsterdam (stand 420, hall 9, from Friday 7 to Tuesday

11 of September).

Dalet NewsWire 2.0

The new generation scripting and newsroom system

This third-generation newsroom computer system provides all the

usability journalists and producers have come to expect from a

best-of-breed newsroom with the advanced functionalities system

administrators and engineering departments require. This new release

introduces a number of new features including advanced planning, dual

column editing, and improved usability as well as full support for

Unicode, advanced device tracking and graphics control, MOS 2.8

compliance, automated XML publishing gateways.


 

Dalet NewsPro 2.0

Tapeless ingest and production for news and programs

Dalet NewsPro 2.0 is a plug-and-play digital production and playout

system for newsrooms that use MOS-compliant newsroom computer systems

such or Dalet NewsWire 2.0, Dalet OpenMedia or AP ENPS. It combines

tapeless ingest with collaborative desktop video editing and powerful

voice-over tools; it adds a flexible asset management and media

migration engine to ensure seamless integration with playout

platforms. This new release provides multi-resolution proxy

management, enhanced CODEC support (including IMX) and sophisticated

timeline-based ingest management.


 

Dalet OnAir

Flexible play-out and gallery automation

Dalet OnAir 2.0 provides flexible gallery automation for news and live

shows as well as for single-channel operations. It streamlines playout

by providing a single user interface to control servers, tape-decks,

graphics and router automation. Dalet OnAir supports both operator

controlled and automated playout so as to ensure error-free

broadcasts. Thanks to its MOS and XML gateways, it can be dynamically

updated by third-party newsrooms and traffic systems. This new version

supports an increased set of external devices and introduces a unique

video cart wall play-out interface that drastically simplifies gallery

operations for live shows and programs.


 

Dalet Media Library 2.0

Turn-key asset management and archiving for sports, news and programs

Dalet Media Library 2.0 is the first asset management and archive

system specifically designed for broadcasters. It provides a

fast-access digital library that seamlessly integrates with existing

systems and video server platforms. This new release provides dramatic

improvements in terms of file-based ingest and content distribution as

well as support for HD formats. Integration with edit suites is taken

to a whole new level thanks to Dalet Xtend for Apple Final Cut Pro

which offers seamless access to the enterprise Media Asset Management

platform from any Apple FCP seat.
