Comedy Continues to Thrive Despite Hollywood Writer’s Strike

NEW YORK - ComedySmack, the Internet's only free daily email blast of insider comedy content, today announced its first annual Smack-Down 2007: The Ten Best Comedy "Finds" of the Year. The list can be found at www.ComedySmack.com .

The ComedySmack creative team, led by founder David Moore, combed through hundreds of sources in search of the most memorable videos, humor pieces and other items siphoned from the constantly expanding and mutating landscape of Internet comedy sites. ComedySmack's editors then narrowed down the final ten from among thousands of items screened, sampled and reviewed during the year.

In addition to being original, culturally relevant and above all, fall-down funny, the items featured in Smack-Down 2007 encompass a broad and wildly diverse range of humor, from YouTube videos to articles on CollegeHumor.com, from the outrageous standup of Sarah Silverman to the sublime cleverness of The New Yorker. "ComedySmack strives to keep an open mind about what's funny," says Moore. "Like Larry Craig, we take a very wide stance."

In addition to announcing Smack-Down 2007, ComedySmack will circulate a special issue on Thursday, January 3rd, highlighting the ten items deemed most "Smack-worthy." ComedySmack will also feature these items on its website, www.ComedySmack.com .
