Clifton, Virginia —May 15, 2008—
Internet Television broadcaster
AmericaFree.TV announced today the Internet
Premiere online of the film “1 nite”,
the award winning debut digital feature
from director Amarbir Singh.
With a crew of 2, director Amarbir Singh and
cinematographer Cristobal Araus Lobos, using
only a hand-held mini DV camera, the actors
improvised their dialogue as the film
explores the interaction of its ensemble
cast during one night on a renowned street,
Karangahape Road, in Auckland, New Zealand.
1nite captures the exciting dynamic of the
street, creating urgency as the plots
evolve. The camera work dogs the characters,
staying in close, in agile verite style.
Starring Bruce Hopkins (Gamling in the “Lord
of the Rings” movies), Jon Brazier, Lauren
Jackson, David Van Horn, Karlos Drinkwater,
Nial Greenstock, Anna Hewlitt, and Genevieve
Bowers, 1nite features a stand out
performance by Rajiv Varma as a young
immigrant Sikh taxi driver who struggles to
sustain his optimistic view of the
opportunities New Zealand provides "
“I am pleased to be able to offer the
Internet Premiere of this great film from
New Zealand,” said AmericaFree.TV CEO
Marshall Eubanks. “This continues our
tradition of offering Internet distribution
of the best independent movies from all over
the world.”
