Campaign Showcases Original Shorts by
Barely Political, You Suck at Photoshop, Jake and Amir, and More
The Webby Awards has commissioned five of the biggest names in online
video, including Barely Political "Obama Girl" and College Humor's "Jake and
Amir", to launch a new campaign promoting the call for entries for the 13th
Annual Webby Awards.
Each day this week, the Webby's will premiere a different original short. The
campaign kicks-off yesterday with Jake and Amir's hilarious film on why
everyone should want a Webby on their mantle.

video, including Barely Political, You Suck at Photoshop, and Jake and Amir,
are touting the benefits of entering The Webby Awards as part of a special
video campaign launching today.
To promote the call for entries for The 13th Annual Webby Awards, the
masterminds behind the Internet's most popular videos were enlisted to
create five wildly original takes on why every aspiring Internet star should
want a Webby on their mantle. Starting today through December 12th, The
Webby Awards will premiere one video each day at

Websites. The deadline for entering The 13th Annual Webby Awards is

Davies noted The 13th Annual Webby Awards is seeking entries in several
new categories that salute online video's growing ranks of entertainers,
performers, and personalities including Best Host of Reality/Variety Series and
Best Individual Performance.
The 12th Annual Webby Awards received a record 10,000 entries from over
60 countries. The awards season was capped by a star-studded June gala
honoring such Internet luminaries as Stephen Colbert, David Byrne, and Black
Eyed Peas front man will.i.am.
The Webby Awards is presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts
and Sciences, a 550-person judging academy whose members include The
Sundance Channel's Larry Aidem, Director Darren Aronofsky, Showtime Chief
Matt Blank, 20th Century Fox Chairman Jim Gianopoulos, and Harvey
Nominees for the 13th Annual Webby Awards will be announced in April 2009,
and winners will be honored at a gala ceremony in New York City in June 2009.
