	In this animated dental implant video you can see a close up of the jaw bone and the implant while it's being inserted. Initially the osteotomy (hole) is made using the final drill which is a bit smaller than the diameter of the dental implant. Next - the implant is inserted and it's threads carve their way into the bone and get a strong grip of the surface surrounding the implant. This grip is known as the "initial stability ". The initial stability is very important for the success of the implant. Also notice that the implant is inserted all the way in - until the top surface of the implant is at the same level of the bone.
