This young film maker may just become the next Brian DePalma - or Steven Speilberg. Pedro Pizarro & his friends created this little flick called " Matrix Fight " Pedro writes on his film blog " I tell everyone that my Matrix agent fight was all for fun and they all don't believe me, they think that we planned the fight for months and planned out every last punch, but the truth is we made it up on the spot, and we filmed it in one day." Perhaps it is a new trend for kids to make up their own "Matrix" movies.... there are several to be found on the net. Here is another we found that mixes original footage with their home video from some kids in Great Britain. Matrix 4D It is said people do crazy things when they are in love. This video proves it. Complete with ukulele , bongo drum and all check out Serenading in iMovie. Apart from each other on their 5 year Anniversary Greg composed this little ditty for his gal Vickie. It's a bit hokey but that's what makes it so good. We guarantee this one will put a smile on your face.
We were just cruising around the net, seeing what we could find and we stumbled across this web site - Joshy's iMovies - these are pretty darn good - especially "Under The Rim" a short little flick shot in his house and starring Joshua Weiland's little brother Christian. Josh might be the next Francis Ford Coppola...

Perrier, working together with Res Media Group and Palm Pictures, selected five filmmakers to create their own visions of America. All five, along with the winner, can be seen at the Perrier "Bubbling Under" web site. The winner, "Tourist Pictures" by Stefan Nadelman, is wonderful. Combining outstanding videography, editing and animation, it provides a glimpse of America and those who travel across it, celebrating it and bringing little bits of it back home in the cameras.
So Loose Pictures presents - Royalty - a film about Kelly, a young prostitute, working the streets of Kings Cross in the heart of London. This is about one night in her life and the characters she meets and manipulates. Shot over five nights in Kings Cross in February 2000. Royalty is our biggest short film to date. So Loose raised all of the money through private investment for the relatively large budget. The film premiered at the Regus London Film Festival 2001,was shown at Brief Encounters Bristol and chosen for the Kodak Annual Showcase. Some people give flowers, some give candy. There are a lots of ways to say "I love you" to the most important person in your life. Check out "The Girl in the Picture" Josh Rafofsky decided to propose to his girlfriend Lainie in the most heartfelt, creative way that he could think of. And so he took her to a local silent movie theater under the guise they were there to see a Buster Keaton film and instead knocked her socks off with his presentation of "The Girl in the Picture." The short movie was shot on a Sony TRV-30, and edited using Apple's iMovie. Josh post-processed it using Adobe After Effects and DigiEffects CineLook.
It's a whole bunch of films - check out the 2002 Award Winners at the 120seconds/com Digital Film Festival. The various award categories include animation, documentary, music video, experimental and narrative. Even though most have a Canadian tilt, these are great. Some of our favorites are Karoke, Midnight Express and Chilly Beach: Out of Thin Ale.
Just in time for Halloween, Mise-En-Chien Productions new flick is making its premiere appearance. Check out The Secret of Zombie Mountain" Created by Craig Macnaughton and Chris McCawley, this parody of horror flicks is played straight, not for laughs. No fancy editing or effects, just good solid acting and storytelling. "Look it's a 700 foot tall zombie!". We also love the silicon-carbon love story sub-plot as well as the coining of a new phrase - the hambie - half human, half zombie. Check this out. Kids can watch this as well!

A new Digital Video (DV) film takes a peek into the little known culture of the Ghost Hunters, an eclectic group of people committed to capturing legitimate evidence that ghosts do exist. "Ghost Hunters" takes the viewer along on two actual paranormal investigations and talks in depth with several leaders in the ghost hunting community. This innovative, low budget documentary also explores the annual Ghost Conference, a meeting of ghost hunters from all over the country conducted by the International Ghost Hunter's Society in "the most haunted place in America", Gettysburg, PA. This well written piece centers on a story being remembered about a friend's untimely demise but unfortunately, no one gets it quite right. Well directed with excellent acting. Funny.

This is quite cute and sweet with some interesting editing touches. While you are at Pocket Cinema, take some time to explore. They also feature nice little documentaries, and clips about action sports, high fashion and the girls next door.
Sometimes a touch is forever. Elsa, Kath and Robin meet for a girls' night out. Over the evening they discuss a moment of innocent flirtation between Elsa and a barman, a moment seemingly reinvented as amusing, perplexing, intimidating and ultimately very poignant. Directed by Shelley Williams, Once Seen is a very interesting and extremely well produced 8 minute film hosted at the Jameson Irish Whiskey Screening Room web site.
Another poignant and moody short film - again from Europe. Check out the Curious. You may never look at your optometrist the same way again. Hosted at BritShorts, this short is from British Film Institute. David Suchet (TV’s Poirot) and Oliver Parker (director of An Ideal Husband) star in this wonderfully sinister tale of a young composer whose life is thrown off balance by a trip to the optician. Wonderfully shot and edited. There is a nice collection of films at this site.
