Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels • Week Of 11/15/13

It's another installment of the weekly Tubefilter Chart of the Top 50 Most Viewed U.S. YouTube Channels and Jimmy Kimmel is in trouble with child psychologists.
Chart Toppers
The YouTube channel for Late Night with Jimmy Kimmel is in the #1 spot on our U.S. Top 50 thanks to a now controversial Halloween prank.
As we explained in the Worldwide version of the charts this week, every year after October 31, the host of the ABC late night talk show instructs parents to tell their kids they ate all of their Halloween candy, record the semi-traumatic results, and upload the vids to YouTube. The team at Kimmel then cuts the best submissions together into a video. That video got enough views to bump Kimmel and company up to the top position on the chart with 47.44 million views on the week and also draw the ire of parents around the globe.
Eminem wrapped the week very close to Kimmel. The Rap God's YouTube channel amassed 47.36 million views in the last seven days, less than 80,000 shy of #1. DisneyCollectorBR, an online video repository of unboxing, tutorial, and playtime videos for adolescent toys, dropped down to #3 this week, with nearly 46 million views. Katy Perry is next in line at the #4 spot, still riding high off of her Roar with 44.7 million views on the week And Miley Cyrus rounds out the Top 5 with nearly 43.6 million views, showing her Wrecking Ball still has some momentum left.
Top Gainers
The honor of Top Gainer in the U.S. goes to an incredibly good cause.
Chicago-based creative producer Rob Bliss directed, produced, and uploaded to his YouTube channel a 2:51 time-lapse clip and ode to Veterans Day showing the transformation of United States Army Veteran Jim Wolf from disheveled and unkempt to handsome and well put-together. It's like that Dove Evolution commercial, except at the end of the video a homeless and struggling alcoholic is turned into an individual who's proud to look into the mirror and filled with a renewed sense of hope.
The video accounted for Bliss' channel seeing an uptick in views of 505,706% to end up at 13 million and the #43 spot on our U.S. chart this week. Channel Distribution
All in all, the top 50 most viewed U.S. YouTube channels this week amassed a total of 1,024,532,557 views. Here's the distribution of those channels by multi-channel network:
- VEVO: 18 channels in the U.S. Top 50, with Eminem topping out at #2.
- WMG: 4 channels in the Top 50, with Atlantic Videos at #38.
- Machinima: 2 channels in the U.S. Top 50,
- Machinima, Maker Studios, Zefr: 2 channels each in the Top 50, with Machinima's with SkyDoesMinecraft at #11, VitalyzdTv the top-ranked of Maker at #22 and Zefr's Movieclips Trailers at #14.
