Lightning Connector RØDE iXY

RØDE, the Australian-based manufacturer of professional field and studio microphones, has just announced an update to its popular iXY microphone-recorder attachment for Apple iOS devices. Both the original 30-pin-connector iXY and the new lightning-connector iXY for iPhone 5, iPhone5s, and iPhone 5c feature two condenser-microphone elements positioned in an XY configuration to capture realistic stereo audio.
In addition to the new lightning connector, for compatibility with the iPhone 5/s/c, the new iXY features a smaller form factor and an integrated iClamp for securing the microphone to your mobile device.
Both versions are able to record at 24-bit 96 kHz resolution and come with a foam wind shield as well as a zippered carrying case. The microphones work with the RØDE Rec app from the App store and can be used for a wide range of audio applications, such as recording music, interviews, sound design, or cold-shoed atop a camera for digital filmmaking.
