April Newsletter -  Internet Video Magazine

April showers bring May videos or something like that. We have been amazed at the plethora of sites popping up that are now offering to host and promote videos online. Yes, we are talking about the YouTube phenomenon. Recently there has tons of positive press and news interested about putting both personal and business videos on the net to share with others worldwide.

Others like Google Video, iFilm, Grouper, One True Media, Streamload, etc., etc., are also jumping on the bandwagon. Will these companies make money, will they survive? Will their content actually become a lot more interesting?

If you have ever visited YouTube, you'll note that most of the videos are unedited or barely edited videos straight from a camcorder or video phone, TV commercials, or clips copied from commercial TV and then uploaded.  Raw,unedited and not all that interesting.  Where is the creativity?

Maybe there is an opportunity here?

This site is GREAT. Goodie Bag TV is an incredibly wonderful collection of short films - most of which are artfully written, directed and produced by Kirby Ferguson. A few are a bit edgy and may earn a slight "kid be aware notice" (ie "Do You Take It - a song by the Wet Spots) but in general, the acting is superb and you will bust out laughing. Strongly recommended!!!
