On January 15, 2009, US Airways Flight 1549 took off from LaGuardia Airport in New York, and, within minutes, struck a flock of birds and lost power in both engines. As the plane falls from the sky, a husband and father has visions of the future he might never get to experience.
This is very well produced, written and acted. And I must confess, of special interest to me, as I had a similar experience. When leaving Amsterdam a few years back, the jet engine on my two engine airliner hit a bird and exploded into fire and smoke. BAM! The plane rocked and rolled. The pasengers were panicked, seeing the flames and smoke streaming out of one of the engines. With one engine dead, we circled above the channel, dropping fuel and waiting until the emergency equipment was in place at the airport for our return. Everyone was crying and screaming. Luckily the craft was able to land without incident. It wasnt until after it landed, once I was off the plance and safe, was when it all hit me. I could have lost them all.
This film brought it back all back for me. Tell your family, your friends, your significant other, that you love them. Everyday
