J.Views Also Made a statement about the song for International Women's Day:
"This song was written by Mike Milosh (of Rhye), Gotye, and myself.
I’m so thankful to the team for beautifully capturing the heartbreak in this song. Especially director Tamar Glezerman, Indya Moore & Elliott Sailors, for giving their full hearts to this.
I can't think of a time when my Jewish immigrant butt could be more proud to share a same-sex love story, led by a beautiful, precious, transgender woman of color, written & directed by a brilliant queer female-director.
I wish all of this wouldn't need to be mentioned at all, but there is a flag to urgently wave now.
You can rest assured that we will always keep holding this voice in the world. We will keep creating for you, for unity, love, and self expression.
We will keep pushing all sorts of beauty in their faces, relentlessly. "
